Microlearning Solution for Art Studio DeliGeli in Montreal
For this project, I designed a microlearning solution tailored to a public pottery workshop with over 30 beginners, accommodating bilingual learners (French & English) within a two-hour timeframe. To ensure an effective and engaging learning experience, I integrated instructional design, graphic design, subject matter expertise, and microlearning principles into a cohesive learning strategy. At the core of the design was a 15-minute live demonstration, carefully structured to introduce learners to four fundamental pottery techniques. To reinforce learning and support independent practice, I developed a bilingual instructional poster, leveraging graphic design principles to provide step-by-step visual guidance with minimal text. This multimodal approach ensured that learners could easily reference techniques, regardless of language proficiency. To ensure accuracy and instructional clarity, I conducted a subject matter expert (SME) interview with the workshop instructor, aligning the content with practical, hands-on learning needs. By structuring the learning journey with microlearning principles, I reduced cognitive overload, allowing participants to quickly grasp essential skills and immediately apply them to their creative process. This interconnected approach—blending live instruction, visual learning aids, and bilingual accessibility—enabled a structured yet flexible learning experience. Participants not only developed foundational pottery skills but also felt empowered to express creativity through guided experimentation.
